It lost to the i3-3225 for extracting files. Using Cinebench 11.5 in single threaded performance and in multithreaded performance it was able to beat an Intel i3-3225. However, I did tests with the CPU at 3.9Ghz. If you are expecting 4.5Ghz and amazing overclocks, you may not want to buy this CPU. I also suspect that Intel might be sorting their CPUs and only put lower quality CPUs for sale under this CPU name. It is possible that better motherboard support is needed, I used a high end Gigabyte Sniper motherboard with latest BIOS, but still could not break 3.9Ghz. At first I thought Intel might have locked the CPU down so it could only overclock a little, but others are getting further. I managed 3.9Ghz on stock voltage, but even running the chip up to 1.3v I was unable to obtain stability at 4Ghz. On my CPU I was only able to obtain 3.9Ghz no matter what I tried. Like the last review, I believe Intel sent the best CPU chips to reviewers, who were able to obtain very high clock frequencies. Second, do not expect to get high overclocks on this CPU.
